Labubu is one of those figures that looks tiny on a shelf and somehow still steals the whole display. Designed by Kasing Lung as part of The Monsters series for POP MART, Labubu became a favourite for collectors who like a bit of mischief in their cabinets. The pointed ears, big eyes, and slightly feral grin give it a personality that stands out next to cleaner, cuter characters.
What makes Labubu special in the blind box world is how quickly people get attached to individual characters. You are not only chasing a brand. You are chasing a face, a pose, and sometimes a colourway that feels like it belongs on your shelf specifically. That is why sealed boxes feel exciting and why opened singles still sell well when the character is right.
One of the fun parts of collecting Labubu is the blind box pull itself. You never know which character you will get until you open the box, and that surprise is half the reason people keep coming back. The mix of a cheeky design and the chance pull keeps collectors hunting for more characters and secret variants. Some collectors buy singles to lock in favourites. Others prefer sealed boxes for the hunt. Both approaches work, depending on whether you care more about completing a set or just finding the one you love.
Labubu has also shown up in some of the most talked about POP MART drops, including Sanrio collaborations. Those sets often sell through quickly because they mix two collecting worlds at once. They are some of the most requested pieces we see from collectors. If you see one you like on Wonderport, it is usually worth moving sooner rather than later, especially on limited or older series.
Display-wise, Labubu looks strong in small groups. Two or three pieces together already feel like a scene. Keep the boxes if you can. A lot of Labubu collectors like the packaging next to the figure, and complete presentations tend to hold their place in a collection longer than loose figures alone.
If you are just starting, begin with one or two Labubu singles from a series you actually like the look of. See how the size and paint feel before you commit to a fuller set. Live with them for a week. Once you know whether you want more of the same line, it is easier to decide between another single, a sealed box, or a fuller set order.
